Yokohama City Mother and Child Family Independence Support Education and Training Benefit

If a person who is insured or insured in employment insurance who meets certain conditions attends education and training courses designated by the Minister of Health, Labor and Welfare, there is a system called the Education and Training Benefit Program (the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare web page) provided by the Public Employment Security Office ("Hello Work").
If you are using this system and are a mother or father of a single-parent family, you will receive an additional benefit from Yokohama City and pay it to be equivalent to 60% of the cost (up to 200,000 yen). The system is called the "Independence Support Education and Training Benefit System".
For mothers or fathers of single-parent families who cannot receive Hello Work benefits due to lack of qualification requirements for employment insurance, Yokohama City will provide education and training benefits equivalent to 60% of the tuition fee.

A mother or father of a single-parent family who lives in the city and supports elementary school studenｔ under the age of 20 who meets all of the following 1 to 3.

1. Those whose income (income from employment, etc. + 80% of child support expenses) is less than Child Raising Allowance's income limit. (* Deductions that can be deducted from income are the same as Child Raising Allowance.)
2. Those who have not received independence support education and training benefits in the past.
3. Those who are deemed to need to take the course in order to get a suitable job. (* It is necessary to meet the above requirements at the time of applying for a course designation and applying for payment.)

1. Designated courses for "General Education and Training" under the employment insurance System
2. Designated courses for “Specific General Education and Training” under the employment insurance System
3. Designated course of "Professional Practical Training" under the employment insurance System

The courses eligible for the benefits are education and training courses designated by the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. Please check with the search system (outside site) or check with the school that holds the courses.

1. For those who qualify for the employment insurance System, 60% of the tuition fee minus the amount that can be received under the employment insurance System.
2. If you are not eligible for the employment insurance system, you will receive 60% of the tuition fee.

※1.2. In each case, the upper limit is 200,000 yen (up to 400,000 yen for specialized practical training and training x required years of study (within 1.6 million yen))
※If the amount of 1.2 is less than 12,000 yen, it will not be paid.

1. Those who qualify for the employment insurance program will receive 20% of the tuition fee from Hello Work, and Yokohama City will provide an additional 40% of the tuition fee.
2. If you are not eligible for the employment insurance system, you will receive an education and training benefit equivalent to 60% of the tuition fee.

However, if the amount of payment exceeds 200,000 yen, the amount of payment will be 200,000 yen, and if it does not exceed 12,000 yen, independence support education and training benefits will not be paid.

1. For those who qualify for the employment insurance system, Hello Work will pay 40% of the tuition fee, and Yokohama will provide an additional 20% of the tuition fee.
2. If you are not eligible for the employment insurance system, you will receive an education and training benefit equivalent to 60% of the tuition fee.

However, if the amount of payment exceeds 200,000 yen, the amount of payment will be 200,000 yen, and if it does not exceed 12,000 yen, independence support education and training benefits will not be paid.

1. If you are eligible for the employment insurance system, you will receive 50% of the tuition fee from Hello Work during the course. If you have acquired qualifications after completing the course and are employed as an insured person within one year from the day following the completion of the course, you can receive an additional 20% of the tuition fee from Hello Work. In this case, Yokohama City will not provide independence support education and training benefits.
2. If you are eligible for employment insurance and are unable to obtain a qualification after completing the course, or are not employed as an insured within one year from the day following the completion of the course, you will receive an additional 10% equivalent from Yokohama City.
3. If you are not eligible for the employment insurance system, you will receive an education and training benefit equivalent to 60% of the tuition fee.

However, if the amount paid exceeds 400,000 yen x the number of years of employment, the amount paid will be 400,000 yen x the number of years of employment (up to 1.6 million yen), and if it does not exceed 12,000 yen, independence support education and training benefits will be paid Not.

After completing the course, apply for education and training benefits in Hello Work. At this time, Hello Work will issue a “Notice of Education and Training Benefit Payment / Non-Payment Decision”. After this, please submit the notice to Yokohama City together with the "Independence Support Education and Training Benefit Payment Application".

Please mail the benefit payment application form to the City of Yokohama, Child and Youth Bureau Children's Family Division within 30 days after completing the course.
