The Yokohama City Public Health Center is established based on the Community Health Law (Law No. 101 of 1947), and covers all areas of Yokohama City as their jurisdiction.
The Health and Safety Department and the Health and Welfare Center (branch) work together to provide health center services such as dealing with infectious diseases and food poisoning, environmental hygiene, food hygiene, medical and pharmaceutical affairs.
※Health and Welfare Center is located in each ward office.

The Health and Welfare Center, established within each ward office, carries out various procedures and consultation services as a branch close to the citizens.

In addition to overseeing and supporting each Health and Welfare Center, the Health and Safety Department formulates city-wide measures and plans for health center operations.
