Security System at Yokohama Port

Target facilities

  • Public facilities: 8 facilities (including Osanbashi)

  • Other facilities: The managers of Yokohama Port Wharf Co., Ltd. and private international wharf facilities are also implementing security measures.

Formulation of wharf and water area security regulations (security plan)

We have formulated security regulations equivalent to the Port facility security plan of the SOLAS Convention and have obtained national approval.

System Development

Implementation of security training and training

Development of monitoring and security systems

Outsourcing security, monitoring equipment maintenance, system operation, etc.

Facility maintenance

Maintenance of fences, surveillance cameras, security lighting, surveillance information systems, etc.

Development of communication and cooperation systems

  • “Yokohama Port Security Committee” (established on January 22, 2004)

The Japan Coast Guard Department, Prefectural Police, Customs and other administrative organizations and 25 industry organizations have established a cooperative and cooperative system for Yokohama Port officials regarding border measures and crisis management.

  • Yokohama Port Security Measures Council (SOLAS Subcommittee) (established on June 18, 2004)

Establish a communication and cooperation system for countermeasures against terrorism at Yokohama Port by each wharf security manager (including private businesses).
