About alerting to citizens, businesses and port officials following the approach of Typhoon No. 19

 According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, Typhoon No. 19 may approach from October 12 to 13, causing storms, high tides and high waves that have never been experienced before at Yokohama Port.
 Therefore, we alert citizens, businesses and port officials as follows. .
 In this way, we ask that you thoroughly prepare for the typhoon and suppress the occurrence of damage.

Alert

  1. The highest priority is to prevent human damage, and keep away from the coastline. If you feel danger, evacuate immediately.
  2. There is a risk of flooding due to the effects of high tides and high waves. For important property, cargo, car, etc., move in advance as far away from the coastline or high as possible. In addition, if there is underground, please take measures to prevent inflow of seawater, rainwater, etc.
  3. Port officials are particularly requested to take the following measures.
    • Organize materials around the shed, warehouse, etc., and take measures to prevent scattering.
    • Thoroughly avoid tightening and high loading containers, cargo, etc. stored.
    • Please take measures to prevent flooding by closing the tide gate in the shed.
    • Please try for safe driving on National Route 357 (Yokohama Bay Bridge section), Minamihonmoku Ohashi, and other harbor roads, etc., and follow the instructions such as closing roads after referring to traffic information such as road managers.
    • Ships that are being moored should follow the instructions of the Japan Coast Guard to ensure safety.
