About alerting to citizens, businesses and port officials with the approach of Typhoon No. 19

According to the Japan Meteorological Agency, a large and violent typhoon 19 may approach from October 12 to 13, storms, high tides and high waves that have never been experienced before at Yokohama Port. May occur.
Therefore, we will alert citizens, businesses and port officials as follows.
In this way, we ask that you thoroughly prepare for the typhoon and control the occurrence of damage.
Alerts
- Prevention of human damage is the highest priority, and do not approach the coastline. If you feel danger, evacuate immediately.
- There is a risk of flooding due to the effects of high tides and high waves. For important property, cargo, automobiles, etc., move to a location as far as possible from the coastline or to a higher position in advance. In addition, if there is an underground, please take measures to prevent the inflow of seawater and rainwater.
- Port officials are requested to take the following measures in particular.
- Organize materials around the shelf, warehouse, etc., and take measures to prevent scattering.
- Thoroughly avoid bonding and high loading of stored containers, cargo, etc.
- Please take measures to prevent flooding by closing the tide gate in the shelf.
- Please try for safe driving on National Route 357 (Yokohama Bay Bridge), Minamihonmoku Ohashi, other harbor roads, etc., and follow the instructions for closing roads, etc., referring to traffic information from road managers.
- For moored vessels, etc., please follow the instructions of the Japan Coast Guard to ensure safety.
