What is the SOLAS Convention (Marine Safety Convention)?
Background of strengthening port security measures

The SOLAS Convention (Marine Life Safety Convention) is an international treaty established following the 1912 Titanic Marine Accident and aims to ensure the safety of ships.
The Convention was amended in December 2002, and it became mandatory to strengthen security measures for ocean-going vessels and port facilities.
