Request from Port and Harbor Bureau

Last Updated August 22, 2024

Port facilities managed by Yokohama City restrict access to the general public because it is necessary to ensure the safety of international vessels and cargo handling work.

Some of the facilities, such as breakwaters and seawalls, are located outside the port and maintain calmness, are installed for conservation onshore facilities, and those that die underwater at high tide.
Therefore, due to the nature of the facility, there is no evacuation means in the event of high waves due to sudden changes in the weather, etc., which may lead to unexpected accidents such as falls, and many accidents have been reported at similar facilities nationwide. Entering is very dangerous.
In addition, the quay inside the wharf is also the site of ship cargo handling work, and it is extremely dangerous to enter other than those involved.

In Motoichi, we raised signboard of prohibition of entry in facility and wharf entrance from conventionally and called attention, but decided to let citizens know again this time.

On the other hand, Yokohama Port has three sea fishing facilities (Honmaki (outside site), Oguro (outside site), and Isoko (outside site)) where citizens can enjoy fishing safely, so please use it by all means .
