Concluded an agreement with JICA, Saitama Prefecture, Saitama City, and Kawasaki City to improve the water supply business in Laos.

　The national goal of Lao PDR is to provide 24-hour safe water to 90% of the urban population by 2030.
City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau has supported the strengthening of the capabilities of the Water Supply Corporation in Lao PDR’s “Project for Improvement of Operation and Management Capability (commonly known as MaWaSU) (2012-29)” and “Project for Improvement of Water Supply Business Operation and Management Capability (commonly known as MaWaSU) (2012-29)” and “Project for Improvement of Water Supply Business Operation and Management Capability” (commonly known as MaWaSU2)”.
　As the third phase, JICA will implement the “WaSU Water Supply Business Operation Management Capability Improvement Project” (commonly known as MaWaSU3) with the aim of further strengthening the water supply sector in Lao PDR.
　Therefore, following MaWaSU2, the Saitama Prefectural Enterprise Bureau, Water Works Bureau, Saitama City, Water Works Bureau Kawasaki City, City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau and JICA signed an agreement on January 23 (Tuesday), with the aim of solving problems in Laos.
　City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau will also support the water supply business in Lao PDR in the fields of management and finance by dispatching staff and accepting trainees.
