Yokohama City is promoting the redevelopment of the Nishiya Water Purification Plant with the aim of improving the earthquake resistance of the Nishiya Water Purification Plant and increasing the treatment capacity of the Nishiya Water Purification Plant. Prior to the development of this facility, six historical buildings that remain in the site since the Nishiya Water Purification Plant was established in 1915, six historical buildings remaining in the site have been relocated to places that did not affect the renewal of the facility by pulling house.
The historic buildings in the hall were registered as a tangible cultural property of the country in 1997, in recognition of the historical value of the brick building and the gentle scenery of a water purification plant. The Nishiya Water Purification Plant will be reborn after redevelopment, but Yokohama City considers the historical buildings in the site as a valuable cultural heritage and is proceeding with construction to pass it on to future generations.
In addition, after the completion of the Hikiya construction, we are planning to open the public to the citizens.
