City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau and Tokyo Electric Power Grid Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Toden PG") have concluded an agreement on the implementation of the experimental project in the study of the introduction of a smart meter using a smart meter communication network (hereinafter referred to as the "Agreement").
The purpose of this agreement is to reduce the cost of installing smart meters and verify the quality of communications by conducting a demonstration experiment in experimental project to share a power smart meter communication network for automatic water meter reading.
Under this agreement, City of Yokohama, Water Works Bureau and TEPCO PG will work to reduce social costs and solve problems faced by water supply and electricity businesses by conducting technical verification of smart meters through joint meter reading and rationalization of system development.
