Since fiscal 2011, Yokohama City has been working on the Yokohama Blue Carbon, a global warming countermeasure project that utilizes marine resources. As part of the enlightenment of this project, an event will be held at Umi Farm, an aquarium in Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Yokohama, where children can experience the harvesting of Wakame.
Children can experience "sea education" by learning about how wakame grows and how marine life absorbs greenhouse gases.
In addition to the venue, Yokohama Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, this event will be held with the cooperation of the soccer J-League club Yokohama FC.
