Outline of fire prevention regulations

In December 2014, we established "the regulations about promotion of non-combustible building in Yokohama-shi non-combustible promotion area" (the regulations about promotion of non-combustible promotion). By this ordinance, fire prevention regulations of buildings have been strengthened in the non-combustible promotion area since July 1, 2015.
When building buildings in the non-combustible promotion area (excluding fire prevention areas), in principle, all buildings have been required to be semi-fire-resistant buildings.
Since this area is a semi-fire prevention area, the Building Standards Law requires that buildings with a total area of more than 500 square meters and buildings with three or more floors excluding the basement are semi-fire-resistant buildings. However, by this ordinance, it is necessary to make semi-fire-resistant buildings for buildings with a total area of 500 square meters or less and the number of floors of 2 or less must be semi-fireproof buildings.
In addition, "quasi-fireproof buildings" are fire-resistant buildings, semi-fire-resistant buildings, or buildings that can secure fire spread prevention performance equal to or higher than these.

Areas subject to fire prevention regulations (non-combustible promotion areas)

The target area of these regulations is "non-combustible promotion area (designated on February 25, 2015)".
