What is the Non-combustible Promotion Area?
Based on the regulations Article 5 Clause 1 about promotion of non-combustible building in Yokohama-shi non-combustible promotion area, "area that may cause significant damage to building by spread of fire in the event of earthquake fire" It is area that the mayor appointed on February 25, 2015.
When building a building in this area after July 1, 2015, it is mandatory in principle that it must be at least "quasi-fireproof building".
When designated as a non-combustible promotion area
Fire protection regulations will be strengthened.
When building a building in the area (excluding fire prevention areas) after July 1, 2015, in principle, "quasi-fireproof buildings" ※It is mandatory to do so. (For details on fire prevention regulations, see here (Housing and Architecture Bureau Building Planning Division website).)
※Semi-fire-resistant buildings
In the case of wooden structures, important parts of buildings such as pillars, beams, walls, etc. are covered with non-combustible materials such as a school board, and fire prevention equipment such as netted glass is installed at the opening of windows and other windows.
We can receive building noncombustible promotion business assistance
Under certain conditions, when removing (demolitating) an old building or building a non-flammable building, subsidize a part of the removal construction cost and design / construction cost (equivalent to fireproof performance enhancement), etc. We can receive "building noncombustible promotion business assistance".
