How to divide and put out
As for the type of separation, please see page of "check garbage separation".
We distribute brochures and leaflets explaining how to separate and put out garbage and resources at the ward office (74th floor on the 4th floor).
The same thing can be downloaded from the "How to separate and dispose of garbage and recyclables" page (there are also foreign language pamphlets and leaflets).
→You need to apply in advance when leaving oversized garbage.
Please check from the "oversized garbage" page (you can also apply via the Internet).
※How to put it out at the collection point
•Please put it out by 8:00 am on the day of collection (do not put it out the night before or after collection).
•There is no designated bag. Please put it in a translucent (or transparent) bag for each item.
Date of collection
The collection date is determined for each district of the collection place and for each type.
Please refer to the "Aoba Ward Collection Day" page.
*You can also check the "collection day sticker" attached to the collection place.
※If the collection day falls on a public holiday, etc. When we rest collection during the year-end and New Year holidays, we will tell about schedule on notice to accumulation place and public information Yokohama, city homepage.

Requests to everyone-things that cannot be collected in the city-
Garbage that cannot be collected in the city
We would like garbage which we cannot collect in city not to put in collection place.
(Example) Large amounts of temporary waste such as moving, specific household appliances (air conditioners, televisions, refrigerators, freezers, washing machines, clothes dryers, personal computers), motorcycles, fire extinguisher, and garbage generated from business
※Please confirm the details in page of "garbage which cannot be collected in city"。
[Dangerous] Never mix products with built-in rechargeable batteries into plastic containers and packaging or burnable garbage!
As electronic devices including lithium-ion batteries, such as mobile batteries, heated cigarettes, and batteries for electronic devices, are discharged into plastic containers and packaging and burnable garbage, fires in collection vehicles and recycling plants are increasing.
Check the correct disposal method of the battery, such as the discharge method, from the "Used Battery" page.
In addition, we have prepared a document (PDF: 667KB) that summarizes how to put out batteries, so please use it.
You may need a separate PDF reader to open a PDF file.
If you do not have it, you can download it free of charge from Adobe.
