We hold the eleventh Tsuzuki Botswana interchange children's drawing exhibition!
Ben Tema Elementary School in Haborone, the capital of the Republic of Botswana in southern Africa, and elementary school student at Chigasaki Elementary School in Tsuzuki Ward interact with each other through paintings.
We will exhibit paintings drawn by elementary school student, a third-year student from both schools (169 Chigasaki Elementary School and 79 Ben Tema Elementary School, 248 in total) on the following schedule.

About Tsuzuki Botswana Exchange Children's Painting Exhibition
-The everyday life of children talked about by painting ~
・・The distance is about 13,500 kilometers. Children's curiosity connects the world across a number of borders.
Exchanges between Chigasaki Elementary School and Ben Tema Elementary School, Botswana, began with the 4th Africa Conference on African Development held in Yokohama in 2008. The "Tsuzuki Botswana Exchange Children's Painting Exhibition", in which third-year students from both countries draw and send pictures, started in 2014. The Children's Drawing Exhibition is held with the cooperation of many stakeholders, including the Embassy of Ryogoku, JICA Botswana Branch, Nippon Express Co., Ltd., which provides free transportation cooperation.

With the cooperation of the embassies of the two countries, JICA Botswana Branch, Nippon Express Co., Ltd., which provides free transportation cooperation, we visualize children's drawings exhibitions and children's school life in both countries. Was. The contents show the whole picture of the efforts, such as the process leading up to the children's drawing exhibition and the online exchange between the two schools implemented as a 10th anniversary commemorative project.
Please take a look at the exchange of children full of curiosity and smiles, and the practice of valuable multicultural understanding education.

Tsuwana Exchange Anniversary Ceremony (Tsutsu Botsna Exchange Children's Painting Exhibition)
This year marks the 10th anniversary of the Tsuzuki Botswana Exchange Children's Painting Exhibition, where Yokohama City Chigasaki Elementary School (Tsuzuki Ward ) and elementary school student of Ben Tema Elementary School in Botswana interact through paintings. In addition to presenting a letter of appreciation from the mayor to Nippon Express Co., Ltd., who has received a great deal of cooperation for the transportation of paintings for 10 years, we broadcast a 10th anniversary video and looked back on the valuable history of painting exchange .
A letter of appreciation was presented to Nippon Express Co., Ltd. for its 10-year free transportation cooperation.
The children listened enthusiastically to messages from those involved.

In watching the video of Botswana children, I was surprised at the difference between classes and lunch.
By watching the 10th anniversary video, the sense of unity at the venue was increased, and I was able to feel the thoughts contained in each of the children's drawings.
Ambassador Morake, the Republic of Botswana, spoke to the children to look to the world and deepen their learning.
Children's art exhibition
In commemoration of the 10th anniversary, special exhibitions were held at Yokohama City Hall Exhibition Space A and Exhibition Space B for two weeks.
At the venue, a DVD showing the children's exchanges was screened, and a third-year children's drawings from Chigasaki Elementary School (Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama City) and Ben Tema Elementary School (the Republic of Botswana) were exhibited. In addition, he exhibited 10-year archives of children in Botswana and looked back on the history of the children's painting exhibition.
At the special exhibition (exhibition space A), videos were also broadcasted, and many people enjoyed the process of the exchange.
At the special exhibition (exhibition space B), visitors sent messages to children.
Folk crafts from the Embassy of Botswana, such as baskets and ostrich eggs, were exhibited at the venue.
After the ceremony, the participants and children watched the exhibition.
There was a figure of discovering his own picture displayed, his favorite picture drawn by Ben Tema Koko, and a picture that appeared in the 10th anniversary video.
I was able to appreciate the archived works of the children of Ben Tema Elementary School since 2014 and feel the transition in painting style.
