About the characteristics of foreigners living in Tsuzuki Ward
There are 3,991 foreigners (as of June 2023) in Tsuzuki Ward .
Since Tokyo Yokohama Germany Gakuen is located in the ward, there are many companies headquartered in Germany.
Of the 733 German nationals living in the city, more than 42% or 313 live in Tsuzuki Ward .
It is a characteristic of the city. (As of June 30, 2023)
In addition, since there is the only mosque in the city, Pakistan nationals are the most common among the 18 wards.
There is also a community in Islam.
The foreign population is 12th out of 18 wards, and although the number is not large compared to other wards.
Because foreigners live in multinational and dispersed, it is difficult for a community to foster a community.
The challenge is to create opportunities to interact with local people.
Focusing on Tsuzuki MY Plaza (Tsuzuki Multicultural and Youth Exchange Plaza), which is an international exchange lounge in the city, we are working with various organizations and companies to support foreign residents and create exchange opportunities.
