TIF(Tsuzuki International Friendship)
-Aiming to create a multicultural town where people with diverse cultural backgrounds are connected to the town of Tsuzuki and grow together in the community-
Tsuzuki International Friendship
Tsuzuki International Friendship (TIF) consists of three groups: Tsuzuki Ward Multicultural and Youth Exchange Plaza (Continued MY Plaza), an international exchange lounge in the ward, Popola, a child care support center in the ward, and Sharing Caring Culture, an NPO that supports foreign families raising children living in northern Yokohama.
The purpose of this organization is to create a multicultural town where people with diverse cultural backgrounds connect with the town of Tsuzuki and grow together in the community. It was formed in July 2023 to build a seamless support system.

Characteristics of Foreign Residents in Tsuzuki Ward
Tsuzuki Ward is home to 4,318 foreigners (as of the end of July 2024).
Since the Tokyo Yokohama Germany Gakuen is located in the ward, many companies headquartered in Germany are located.
Of the 750 German nationals living in the city, about 45% of 336 live in Tsuzuki Ward .
It is a characteristic of the city. (As of July 31, 2024)
In addition, since there is the only mosque in the city, Pakistani residents are the largest among the 18 wards.
There is also a Muslim community.
The foreign population is 12th out of 18 wards, and the number is not large compared to other wards.
Because foreigners live in multinationals, it is difficult for communities to be fostered.
The challenge is to create opportunities to interact with local people.
Focusing on the MY Plaza (Tsuzuki Multicultural and Youth Exchange Plaza), which is an international exchange lounge in the city, we are working with various organizations and companies to support foreign residents and create exchange opportunities. .
