3 rules for garbage disposal manners for Seya residents

Yokohama City is promoting the “Yokohama 3R Dream Plan” to reduce the total amount of waste and resources and further reduce the environmental impact.
In Seya Ward, we ask for your cooperation in reducing the amount of garbage in the "Seya Residents' Garbage Manners Three Rules".
Article 1: Thorough separation! In particular, let's separate recycle paper such as wrapping paper.
First of all, let's thoroughly separate and promote the recycling of usable resources. By the way, about 10% of the garbage collected as "burnable garbage" is recyclable recycle paper.
Article 2: After kitchen garbage drains the water! Let's take out the branches and grass after drying.
About 80% of kitchen garbage is water. Draining kitchen garbage water thoroughly reduces kitchen garbage's decay and bad smell.
Pruned branches and cut grass are naturally dried for 4 to 5 days, and the water evaporates and becomes lighter, making garbage easier.
If the amount of water contained in the garbage is low, the environmental burden of incineration is also reduced.
Article 3: It's a waste! Be careful about the expiration date of untouched foods
The food loss per citizen is about 28 kilograms per year. Reduce food loss by checking the refrigerator regularly and not buying too much or making too much food.
