Planetaria YOKOHAMA is a planetarium equipped with an LED dome system, where you can enjoy colorful and immersive images. Because you can eat and drink alcohol, it is also popular with adults!

The highlight is Lego Art at Yokohama Bay Bridge! To celebrate the 35th anniversary of its opening in September this year, a commemorative panel exhibition and novelties will be distributed from Friday, July 26th. ※Novelty distribution will end as soon as the novelty distribution is gone.

Yokohama-bijutsukan, which has been closed due to large-scale renovation work since 2021. The entire building will be open in February 2025, and you can enjoy the new Yokohama-bijutsukan as the venue for the 8th Yokohama Triennale. Yokohama-bijutsukan is an open art museum that values the spirit of enterprising spirit. From November, the museum focuses on not only “seeing” but also “creating” and “manabu”. From November, the museum will be reopened.

"Chuo-toshokan" in Nishi Ward is the largest library in Yokohama. The number of books in Japan is about 1.76 million! If you come here, you can read a lot of books.
Chuo-toshokan is used by about 2,400 people a day! The theme is different for each floor. In the corner of local materials on the third floor, there are a lot of books related to Yokohama.

Mr. Endo is working on the theme of "geography x Yokohama Love x Illustration", but did you like to draw illustrations since childhood?
Mr. Endo) I was a child who drew illustrations after school from a young age. Especially when I was in sixth grade in elementary school, the character I drew was selected as the representative character of Nishi Ward in the city's athletic meet. Among the characters selected from elementary schools in Nishi Ward, I am still proud to be ranked first in the votes of all elementary school studenｔ Nishi Ward. The character at this time is called "Kamome Mirai", and I still have so much attachment to use it as a Twitter name.
You were born and raised in Nishi Ward. Do you have any memories of Nishi Ward as a child?
Mr. Endo) My favorite place is "Kamonyama Park". I also visited elementary school excursions, played with playground equipment such as sliders, and raised tadpoles and frogs caught in the pond.
Please let me know if there is a secret story about Mirai Tobe.
Mr. Endo) I liked the geography of Japan, and when I saw the license plate of my car, I was thinking about the areas of other prefectures. Meanwhile, through town walks, I thought that each ward in Yokohama has various attractions, and by comparing it with other wards, I thought that the characteristics of Nishi Ward would come out even more. When I was in high school, I thought it would be interesting to use this character as a character. It was the beginning of Mirai Tobe to identify the characteristics of Nishi Ward and made it into a character, and Mirai Tobe was the first design of the 18 wards.
I heard that Nishimaro-chan also likes.
Endo) I wanted to know more about Yokohama, so I majored in geography at university. I liked it, so I went around each ward office to collect pamphlets and other information. In fact, Nishimaro-chan love overflowed, and I made a handmade Nishimaro-chan doll. Even now, I take it when I walk around the town. I am very happy to be able to collaborate with Nishimaro-chan today.
What are your goals for the future?
Mr. Endo) Yocco18's mission is to "increase the number of people who know and enjoy the immediate area." The 18th ward is home to many people, and each of the 18 wards has a diverse range of local resources. We are working with the desire to make everyone aware of it. I would be glad if I could cooperate with the ward office in such a part.
