In order to prevent the spread of COVID-19, events and gatherings in each region continued to be canceled, but we have gradually adopted a new lifestyle in the Nishi Ward.

On Saturday, the 5th September, an appointment ceremony was held in West public hall.
It was usually unveiled at the stage of the Fifth District Summer Festival, held in Nishi public hall around July, but this year the summer festival was canceled, so only the appointment ceremony was held.

Junior Volunteers are the first initiative in Nishi Ward, which began in the Fifth District, and involves recruiting applicants from elementary school studenｔ students at Hiranuma Elementary School and Okano Junior High School. In addition to helping with local events such as the summer festival and parent-child contact meetings, free salon 5 and kitchen 5 where children are where children live, they can also experience wheelchairs and visit care plazas to deepen their understanding of welfare. Volunteer elementary school studenｔ students received a letter of appointment and a bibs to be worn during their activities by Mr. Hirano, Chairman of the Neighborhood Association Federation of District Fifth District 5. This year, junior volunteers of nine elementary school students and five junior high school students were born.

In the fifth district, the goal of "children play a role in the community" is set in the district-specific plan of the Nishi Ward Health and Welfare Plan "Nikomachi Plan". Junior volunteers can be said to be an effort to implement that goal.
This year, in order to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, it may be difficult to go as usual. Even in such a case, I think that young volunteers full of young power will come up with unprecedented ways from a new perspective and deliver a good wind to the community.
