Regarding the application for use, we have created materials that are easy for beginners to understand. Please use it together with the usage guide.

We distribute at Midori Ward government office, local child care support base, gathering open space of parent and child, Nakayama community care plaza, administrative service corner (Azamino Station, Shin-Yokohama Station), municipal nursery school in ward. In places other than the ward office, the number is limited.

Please submit use application in the middle of the year and notification of change of desired facility to ward office Children and Families Support Division of your ward. The deadline is the 10th of every month (in the case of Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays, the immediately preceding weekday open agency day). (must arrive by mail.)
For example, the deadline for applying for use in July 2024 is Monday, June 10, 2024.
Caution: If the documents are incomplete, we may not be able to accept your application. Please apply with plenty of time for the deadline.

The notification of usage adjustment result will be sent out around 25 days before the previous month.
In addition, those who have been decided to use the service will be contacted separately by telephone about 20 days before the previous month.

The number of licensed nursery schools in Midori Ward will be updated on the 1st of every month.
In addition, the number of licensed nursery schools in all wards of the city and the number of people waiting for admission are disclosed on the “Enrollment Status of Nursery Schools” (City of Yokohama, Child and Youth Bureau website).

Currently, if you live outside Yokohama City and wish to use a licensed nursery school in Yokohama City, you will need to apply through your local government in principle.

If you are currently living in Midori Ward, Yokohama City and wish to use a nursery school outside Yokohama City, you must apply through the Midori Ward Office in principle.
Please be sure to check with your local government in advance for the application deadline and required documents, and submit all required documents to the Midori Ward Office Children and Families Support Division at least one week before the deadline for each municipality.
If there are any incomplete documents, we may not be able to accept your application, so please check carefully before applying.
If you do not plan to move out of Yokohama, you will also need a set of application styles for Yokohama City, so please prepare it together.

When applying for childcare leave benefits, etc., you may need "documents proving that you could not enter a nursery school."
In Yokohama-shi, we apply for the use of nursery schools and issue "holding letter of advice" to those who have been put on hold. If you need proof of holding ("pending certificate") separately for those who have received the "Preservation Notice"), please submit the "Preservation Certificate Grant Application" to the ward office Children and Families Support Division .
