The Housing Lodging Business Law (so-called “Minpaku New Law”) was enacted in June 2017, and came into effect on June 15, 2018.
As a result, the notification of the housing accommodation business was started on March 15, 2018, and after the enforcement, even condominiums, etc., which had been used exclusively as housing until now, can be legally registered in accordance with the law. It can be implemented as a lodging business.
At the same time, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism revised the "Condominium Standard Management Rules" on August 29, 2017, and exemplified both cases where the housing accommodation business is possible and where it is prohibited.
