Guidelines for the Formation of Night Landscapes of Yokohama City

- Until now, Yokohama City has been promoting the creation of calm and beautiful night scenery through rules based on the landscape system and lighting up historic buildings. On the other hand, in recent years, due to advances in lighting technology such as multicolor LED lighting and projection mapping, and the promotion of the activation of the night economy, large-scale night scenery using light has been created mainly in the coastal area of the city.
- Citizens, businesses and the government will deepen their understanding of the direction and production method of night landscape formation, reflect them in individual plans and designs, and further light events that citizens and tourists can enjoy. By being promoted, we have formulated the "Yokohama City Central Coastal Area Night Landscape Formation Guidelines" to make the night scenery of the city coastal area more attractive.
- We hope that the use of these guidelines will further promote economic revitalization and night-time economy in the coastal area of the city center.
