Yokohama City Public Sign Guidelines

Last Updated February 21, 2024

Public signs are a general term for highly public signs, maps, guidance signs, etc. used by unspecified large numbers of people, and are installed in public spaces by public institutions as the main installation body. Public signs are also used as tools for directing the city by adding various information and functions and finishing with image colors of the city.
However, if installed without a sufficient sign plan, problems will occur, such as the lack of unity in shape and display methods and poor management.
Therefore, in Yokohama City, in order to enhance the attractiveness of the city and make it a unified and easy-to-understand public sign for citizens and visitors, in 1995, `` Yokohama City Public Sign Guidelines "has been created. Including city hall-related departments involved in public sign installation, related companies, designers, please install based on these guidelines.
