Yokohama City Public Signing Guidelines

Last Updated February 21, 2024

Public signs are general names for highly public signs, maps, guidance boards, etc. used by unspecified large numbers of people, and are installed in public spaces by public institutions as the main installation bodies. Public signs are also used as tools for directing the city by adding various information and functions and finishing with the image color of the city.
However, if installed without a sufficient sign plan, problems will occur, such as the shape and display method will not be unified, and management will not be well managed.
Therefore, in Yokohama City, in 1995, we showed standards such as letters of public signs and map notation methods to enhance the appeal of the city and make it a unified and easy-to-understand public sign for citizens and visitors. Public sign guidelines "was made. Including the city hall-related department concerned with public sign setting, related companies, designers, please install based on these guidelines.
