Initiatives to expand designation under the Green Space conservation System
Greenery in Yokohama is decreasing with urbanization, and in order to pass on cohesive forest land to the next generation.
The city has been promoting initiatives to preserve forest land based on the Yokohama Green Up Plan since 2009.
Most of the greenery remaining in the city is private land, so that the owner can keep it for as long as possible.
With the understanding and cooperation of the owners, it was designated as a green space conservation system to reduce or exempt property taxes and reduce inheritance taxes.
We provide support in terms of maintenance and management.
In addition, in designated areas such as the special green area conservation area and citizen's forest, due to requests and unforeseen circumstances under the law.
In response to the purchase request, the city purchases land to create a permanent conservation of precious green space left in the city.
