Kagetsuen, Tsurumi Park

Tsurumi Kagetsuen Park (opened in November 2021) will be implemented by the Urban Renaissance Agency in order to integrally improve the maintenance and improvement of the district park of about 4.3 ha and the surrounding city area while utilizing the site of the Kagetsuen Bicycle Racetrack. Maintenance was carried out by the “Disaster Prevention Park Block Maintenance Project * 1”.

※１．What is the Disaster Prevention Park Block Development Project?
It is business to promote maintenance of park and maintenance of city area integrally. Urban Renaissance Agency becomes business entity and performs maintenance such as park or residential land, and Yokohama-shi manages maintenance about maintained park.

In response to the abolition of the bicycle race business in March 2010, the site of the Kagetsuen Bicycle Racetrack, which is close to Kagetsuen-mae Station (Keikyu Main Line) in Tsurumi Ward, we established a study group organized by Kanagawa Prefecture to study its utilization.
According to the summary of the results of the study meeting, it is desirable to integrally improve the surface, including the site of a private company's house adjacent to the site of the bicycle racetrack, and the Urban Renaissance Agency (UR) will be the main business entity. It was shown that the direction of the park block maintenance project will be taken.
Based on this summary, we will promote integrated maintenance with district parks and adjacent residential areas.

(Tentative name) Regarding the maintenance of Tsurumi Kagetsuen Park, we prepared a plan based on the opinions received from the Neighborhood Associations surrounding Neighborhood Association in January 2016, and held a total of five discussion meetings from December 2017 to March 2018.
A total of 97 people participated in this discussion meeting and received many opinions and requests.

■About improvement point of park maintenance plan (August 1, 2019)
In proceeding with the construction order, we will inform you that some improvements have been made in consideration of safety, durability, etc. based on the park maintenance plan that has been shown so far.
