Iijima Rainwater Reservoir (Low Area) Maintenance Project
Last Updated August 1, 2024
Business Purpose
Inundation status (influence of Typhoon No. 18 on October 6, 2014)
In areas with low ground (low areas) in Iijima-cho, Sakae-ku (southern part of the Iijima area), flood damage has occurred since the past, so reduce inundation damage to 10-year probability rainfall (approximately 60 mm per hour) We maintain Iijima rainwater regulating pond to store rainwater to plan and ensure safety.
Business description
Basin Map of Iijima Rainwater Reservoir
Rainwater that has fallen in Iijima-cho, Sakae-ku (green coloring area) is stored in the Iijima Rainwater Reservoir, and the rainwater stored in fine weather is drained to the Azuma Iijima Rainwater Trunk Line.
≪Iijima Rainwater Reservoir≫
Storage volume: Approx. 15,600m3
2 floors above ground, 4 floors below ground, 33m wide x 43m long x 26m deep underground / 11m above ground
Construction status
1 Drilling work: Using a large backhoe, the earth and sand is dug up to about 26m underground.
2 reinforcement work: After drilling is completed, reinforcing bars with various diameters (diameter 13mm to 32mm) will be installed in designated positions.
Type 3 Frameworker: Before pouring concrete, install plywood to fit the dimensions of the structure.
4 Concrete casting work: Pour concrete into the formwork.
5 Formula Deformation Work: When the concrete solidifies and removes the formwork, the reinforced concrete frame is completed.
6 Architecture: A management building will be constructed at the top of the underground structure.
7 Situation in the Rainwater Reservoir①
8 Situation in Rainwater Reservoir②
9 Situation in the Rainwater Reservoir 3: The large space that spreads underground can store about 43 cups of water for a 25m pool. ※It is expressed by the calculation when the 25m pool is 25m long x 12m wide x 1.2m deep.
Construction will begin in FY2020 and will be completed in FY2024. For early realization of inundation measures, we aim to start some service during 2024.
