Survey of dioxins in soil (FY2010)

This page is a document describing the survey results of dioxin concentrations in soil conducted in 2010 (2010).

Outline of the survey

Yokohama City has been conducting a survey on dioxins in soil since 1998. In 2010, the entire city was divided into 10 districts, and one point was selected from each district and surveyed. We are pleased to announce that the results of the survey are now available.

Survey points and methods

The survey points were selected for parks with bare land of a certain area suitable for sampling, and were collected and analyzed in accordance with the "Soil Survey and Measure Manual for Dioxins (Ministry of the Environment: March 2009)" .

Date of investigation

August 23, 2010 and August 24, 2010

Survey results

  1. The concentration of dioxins in soil at 10 locations in the city conformed to the soil environmental standards of 1,000 pg-TEQ / g at all points.
