Last update date April 3, 2024

This page is a document describing the results of the survey on dioxin concentrations in soil conducted in 2005 (2005).

Purpose of the survey

From 2000, the city of Yokohama was divided with a 1km mesh, and the survey of 340 meshes was completed in a five-year plan. In 2005, we conducted a survey of relatively high concentrations among the survey results so far, and we will inform you that the survey results of the 28 locations have been compiled.

Survey points and methods

The survey points were selected for parks, temples, and schools with bare land of a certain area suitable for sampling, and collected in accordance with the "Soil Survey and Measure Manual for Dioxins (Environment Agency: January 2000)" Analyzed.

Date of investigation

From February 9, 2006 to February 17, 2006

Survey results

  1. The concentration of dioxins in soil at 28 locations in the city ranged from a minimum of 0.0018 pg-TEQ / g to a maximum of 73 pg-TEQ / g, and the average was 13.0 pg-TEQ / g. The results of this survey conformed to the environmental standards of 1,000 pg-TEQ/g.
