Tenjinbashi Rebuilding Project

Last Updated April 5, 2018

Shimbashi was opened on March 12, 2018. Thank you very much for your cooperation.

Business Overview

Tenjinbashi is a bridge that spans the Horiwari River, a second-class river completed in 1927 as a reconstruction project following the Great Kanto Earthquake.
Approximately 90 years have passed since the construction, and the cross-sectional loss of the floor slab surface, the exposure and corrosion of the rebar, the corrosion and distortion of the bridge girder are progressing, and the width is also as narrow as 5.5m. Since there was no division of the sidewalk, we have been promoting the replacement business since 2009.
The new bridge will widen the roadway and have sidewalks on both sides to improve local traffic convenience and ensure pedestrian safety.
In addition, the overhanging sidewalk upstream of Tenjinbashi, which was used as the Tenjinbashi bus stop, was also aging like Motohashi, so it was removed during the rebuilding work of Tenjinbashi, and a new bus stop was located downstream of Tenjinbashi. Was set up.
