Initiatives at the Tsuzuki Library

Yokohama City Library has formulated "Library Goals" every year since 2005 and announces it to citizens. Based on the Yokohama City Library Operation Execution Plan (FY2019 to FY2022), we have set specific initiatives, indicators, and target values, and evaluate each initiative in the following fiscal year.

We have set goals to promote reading activities in accordance with the local characteristics of Tsuzuki Ward  .

We cooperate with ward offices, libraries, schools, etc., and promote local reading activities with various facilities and reading activities groups.

Tsuzuki Library was awarded the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology commendation as an excellent practice library for children's reading activities in 2016. This award is the first time in Yokohama City Library. The following is a link to the materials at the time.

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the opening of the Tsuzuki Library, the PR character of the Tsuzuki Library was decided at an event called "Tsuzuki Library Character Decision Tournament". Of the four characters, "Myago" and "Chuzu" were selected in your vote. The name is also selected from among many applications. Let's do well!

"Miyago" and "Chuzu" were appointed as "Biodiversity Character Cheering Team (external site)" on June 28, 2014, a public relations organization of the Japan Committee for the International Decade of Biodiversity (external site) ".

On December 15, 2015, in the "Library Character Grand Prix" held at the 17th Library General Exhibition, Miya and Chuzu won a prize (4th to 10th place) .
