Tsurumi Ward Reading Activity Promotion Goals

In Yokohama-shi, "the regulations about promotion of book-reading activity of Yokohama citizen" was enforced on April 1, 2014. In addition, in March, 2014, "Yokohama citizen book-reading activity promotion plan" was devised to support citizen's reading activity widely from child to elderly person.
Based on this plan, in Tsurumi Ward, ward offices, libraries, schools, etc. collaborated to formulate the "Tsurumi Ward Reading Activity Promotion Goals" in February 2015 to promote reading activities in accordance with the local characteristics of Tsurumi Ward.
In response to the formulation of the "Second Yokohama Citizens' Reading Activity Promotion Plan" in December 2019, Tsurumi Ward has formulated the "Second Tsurumi Ward Reading Activity Promotion Goal".
This is a target of approximately five years starting from 2020.

We will promote initiatives for a wide range of generations, from infants to the elderly, and incorporate the perspective of multicultural coexistence unique to Tsurumi Ward, and promote the creation of an environment where all residents can get acquainted with reading.

In Tsurumi Ward, there are many facilities and reading volunteers who are responsible for reading activities. We will promote mutual information exchange and business cooperation in each of these activities, and foster rich opportunities for reading activities throughout the region.
