In 2018, a lecture was held on November 10 with Mayuko Sannomiya, a blind essayist and picture book writer, Mayuko Sannomiya, as a lecturer, with the title "If you listen gently."
Lecturers with many books, such as "Sky taught by Birds" and picture book "Delicious Oto", freely talked about the daily activities of various activities. We had you show the story-telling of the picture book, which was your own work, and it was a lecture with a peaceful and fun atmosphere.

At the lecture, Mr. Sannomiya himself heard a variety of stories, from reading picture books, story about picture book production, and introduction of various useful tools for visually impaired people.
In the second half, the lecturer's books, "Delicious Oto" and "Densha Ha Uta" (both Gospelkan Bookstore), which were written by the lecturer, and showed off the imitation of birds by whistle as a sound. , Big applause was received.
In addition, there was also an event to experience the world of blind people who closed their eyes and listen to the sounds of different instruments from the four directions of the venue, called the "Four Corner Ceremony".
During the last question and answer session, lively opinions were exchanged, ranging from the instructor's work to the storytelling of picture books. According to the questionnaire, the satisfaction of the participants was very high, and it seemed that the content was useful for those who are reading stories.

On March 9, a lecture was held with Junko Watanabe, the president of Suzuran Bunko, as a lecturer.
Everyone listened to stories that felt deep affection for the children based on their years of experience.
On the day of the event, Mr. Watanabe also performed a cloth picture book, and it was very fulfilling.
Also, the sample of the cloth picture book I had was also very popular.

At the lecture, Mr. Watanabe himself introduced the history of the children's library (Suzuran Bunko), which he has been involved, reading picture books to babies, children with disabilities, children in developing countries, stories about writing, etc. We heard many stories about children and picture books.
In the second half, there was an explanation of cloth picture books that were "barrier-free for the mind" for library users, which has "picture books + playground equipment and teaching equipment."
In addition, nurturing words richly is a story about nurturing the heart rich, such as the significance of book start, the importance of native language, actively using the library when reading picture books to babies, etc. Isn't it a very meaningful time for the participants?
"Eating is nourishing the body, and picture books are nourishing for the mind." There were also words that left an impression, such as "parents make children who don't like books."
From the questionnaire, many people seemed to be impressed with Mr. Watanabe's activities and cloth picture books.
