Tsurumi Ward Reading Activity Report 2017

In fiscal 2017, "Do you know? What is a picture-story show ... With the main theme, not only children but also adults are interested in picture-story shows! We held a lecture to convey the joy and charm of such a picture-story show, and a workshop to actually make a picture-story show.

At the lecture, we invited Hideko Nagano (picture book / picture-story show writer) to hear various stories.
"Kamishibai" is a word that was born in Japan and is widely understood in many countries.
Regarding the difference between a picture book and a picture-story show, a picture book contains an explanation, and the story progresses by turning over, but in a picture-story show, the story is transmitted by the dialogue of the actor, how to move the screen, and pulling it out. The picture-story show stage plays an important role, and the presence of the stage makes the viewer's heart excited and excited.
There were also introductions to various picture-story shows, and the history of the picture-story show, the picture-story show during the war, and the street picture-story show were also touched.
At the end, Mr. Nagano and members of the Picture-story Show Culture Promotion Council were very exciting with the demonstration of the picture-story show, and the lecture was always laughing.

At the workshop, we learned how to make a picture-story show by the lecturer Hiromi Tokiwa (picture-story show writer), entitled "Let's Make Tsurumi's Picture-story Show".

First of all, start by choosing a theme.
Folk tales, history, festivals, and Tsurumi has a wealth of themes that will be the theme of picture-story shows.
Once the theme was decided, the participants were struggling with writing scripts and picture books, and unfamiliar tasks.
However, I gradually felt like I was absorbed in the fun of making a picture-story show.
Efforts are made, such as how to paint colors and directing, and bring life to the drawing paper.

And once a work is made, after all, a presentation is indispensable.
Finally, a presentation of a picture-story show made at the workshop was also held.
Many wonderful works related to Tsurumi have been performed.
The person who made it demonstrated, and the venue was very exciting!
I guess I was able to fully feel the charm of the picture-story show by the person himself.
