About special exhibition of nationally designated important cultural property "Sekiya House"

The Seki Family Residence in Katsuta-cho, Tsuzuki-ku, Yokohama City, is said to be the oldest existing house in the Kanto region. Designated as an important cultural property. The site is usually closed (*), but with the cooperation of the owner, special exhibition has been held once a year since 2005 with the cooperation of the owner.
※Since the Sekiya residence is a private house, it is usually not possible to enter the premises privately.

2023 Information Flyer
You can gather at the designated time to contact the winner, and you can observe the buildings, sites, and points on the premises, which are usually closed in about 40 minutes while receiving commentary by curators and research staff. We hope that this will be an opportunity to get acquainted with valuable cultural properties that tell the history of the region.

※In principle, junior high school students and above.
※Please apply only once per group (up to 4 people) and make sure that there is no overlap, including companions.
※The meeting time will be specified here because it will be conducted in a tour format.

Currently, it can be restored and applied. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

After the e-mail that arrives automatically after the application, we will check the application details and send you a "application acceptance completion email" within 1-2 weeks.
Please note that the application is not completed until you receive the "Application Acceptance Completion Email".

Precautions
- There is no parking lot or bicycle parking lots. Please come by public transport.
- Rainy weather (cancelled in stormy weather). In case of cancellation, we will inform you on this website.
- Since the Seki Family Residence is a private house, photography is not possible inside the building.
- This project is co-hosted by Yokohama City Hometown History Foundation.
