Grants and support for the Agency for Cultural Affairs

Prior adjustment and consultation with the country, prefecture, and city may be required when applying for a business.

Subsidy from Kanagawa Prefecture

Subsidies for cultural property owners such as designation

In Kanagawa Prefecture, subsidies are issued for preservation and repair of cultural properties designated by the national and prefectural governments, etc., to preserve cultural properties.

In Yokohama City, subsidies are issued for the activities of intangible folk cultural properties protection groups (certified organizations), such as the repair of cultural properties such as national, prefectural, and city designation, to protect cultural properties.

Foundation for Cultural Property Protection and Art Research Foundation Subsidy for Conservation and Repair of Cultural Properties

[Subsidies]
(1) Among prefectural or municipal designated cultural properties, arts and crafts, building cultural properties, or tangible folk cultural properties (monuments and intangible cultural properties) that are scheduled to be repaired as subsidized projects by prefectures or municipalities in FY2024 (Excluding cultural properties) that have a large burden on the owner and need the subsidy of this Foundation.
(2) Cultural assets in accordance with (1) above that are scheduled to be repaired in FY2024, and the Prefectural Board of Education, etc., especially wish to subsidize this foundation.

Meiji Yasuda Quality of Life Cultural Foundation "Subsidy for Conservation and Maintenance of Local Traditional Culture" (recruitment of business in 2024 was closed)

This is a support project conducted by the Meiji Yasuda Quality of Life Cultural Foundation for activities to pass on local folk performing arts and folk techniques, especially for various activities to acquire skills necessary for successor development.
We are looking for businesses for FY2024 (from April 2024 to March 2025).

The application requires a primary recommendation (municipal board of education, public museums, academic experts, etc.) and a secondary recommendation (recommendation by the prefectural board of education or the cultural department of the governor's department).
If you would like to make a primary recommendation by City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat, please consult with the City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat Secretariat Lifelong Learning and Cultural Properties Division (045-671-3284). Depending on the timing of your consultation, we may not be able to accept recommendations.

The Mitsubishi Foundation "Subsidy for Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Properties" (Application for projects in fiscal 2024 has ended.)

This is a subsidy provided by the Mitsubishi Foundation for the preservation and restoration of tangible cultural properties other than buildings.

This is a subsidy project conducted by the Mitsubishi UFJ Trust and Regional Cultural Foundation for activities organizations in the fields of music, art, theater, and traditional performing arts that contribute to the promotion of local culture.

We are recruiting businesses for fiscal 2024 (from April 1, 2024 to March 31, 2025).

Okinaga Cultural Promotion Foundation Regional Cultural Activities Project Subsidy (Application for FY2023 has been closed)

This is a subsidy for various cultural activities projects (traditional folk performing arts performances or public projects, preservation training projects for traditional folk performing arts) conducted by arts and cultural organizations located in various places conducted by the Okinaga Cultural Promotion Foundation.

Application is based on recommendations from the Board of Education or academic experts. If you wish, please consult with the City of Yokohama, Board of Education Secretariat Secretariat Lifelong Learning and Cultural Properties Division (045-671-3284) with plenty of time. Depending on the timing of your consultation, we may not be able to accept recommendations.

Arts and Culture Promotion Fund (Activities such as promotion of local culture) subsidy program (recruitment of business was finished in 2024)


This is a subsidy for activities by the Japan Arts and Culture Promotion Association for activities to create or spread arts, and other activities to promote or spread culture.
In the support category of "Activities such as promotion of local culture", we support the following activities in particular.
○Activities that contribute to the creation and dissemination of art in the region and the promotion of local communities through these activities
○Activities to create and promote art that residents can independently appreciate and participate in
○Activities related to the preservation and utilization of cultural properties that will greatly contribute to the next generation

We are recruiting activities to be conducted from April 1, 1960 to March 31, 2007.

Subsidy for the maintenance and restoration of cultural properties of the Sumitomo Foundation (Sumitomo Foundation has ended in FY2024)

This is a subsidy for the maintenance and restoration of cultural properties (arts and crafts) conducted by the Sumitomo Foundation.

We are looking for businesses from March 2024 to March 2025.
