Overview
In the residential labeling area, the Address is determined by the location of the entrance to the building.
Therefore, when building a new building, rebuilding, or changing the entrance, it is necessary to submit a notice of change to the Family Registry Division Registration Section in the ward where the building is located and receive the designation of the New Address.
- Confirmation of whether it is a residential display implementation area is required.List of street names in Yokohama CityPlease refer to the documentation.
- The lot number will be used as Address outside the residential area. (Building change notification is not required)
- Notifications can be made at the Family Registry Division Registration Section window in the ward where the building is located, or by mail or online (Yokohama City Electronic Application and Notification Service).

In the case of residential land development, a field survey may be required, so please allow sufficient time for the procedure.
If you do not complete this procedure, Address will not be decided, so you will not be able to move in.

To the ward office Family Registry Division Registration Section, where the building is located, a building transfer notice (PDF: 129KB), a guide map (near house map, etc.), a layout drawing (PDF: 815KB) (specify the conductor from the entrance to the road with a red arrow), Please send a floor plan.

Precautions for mail and online notification
●If there are any deficiencies in the contents of the notification or matters to be confirmed, the ward office will contact the submitter's Phone number or e-mail address.
In addition, please note that you may have you come to ward office as needed.
●In notification by mail, please fill in the following in the bottom margin of the building transfer notice.
・Type of building (detached house, apartment, others (specific))
・Total number of units and building name (in the case of apartment)
●If the house number display board is not required (such as listed on the nameplate)
・In the case of notification by mail, fill in the bottom margin of the notice of change of building
・In the case of online notification, select "Unnecessary" in the reception form.
Please do it.
●When sending the "House Indication Notice" and "House Number Indication Board", we will send it by ordinary mail. Thank you for your understanding.
●Due to reasons such as the number of mailing days, it will take more days than notification at the counter.

- A sketch of the neighborhood (guidance map) ※Please indicate the location of the building.
- Layout map (with which the position of the entrance is known) ※Please specify the conductor from the entrance to the road with a red arrow (see example).

※Please be responsible for the mailing fee at the time of notification by mail and the communication fee at the time of notification online.
Flow after notification
We hand "house indication letter of advice" and "house number indication board".
Please install the "house number display board" in a position that is easy to see from roads such as posts. (It is also possible to display it on the nameplate etc.)
※In the case of mail or online notification, it will be mailed at a later date.
※Even if you come to the office, if a field survey is required for setting up Address, we may mail it later.
