Even if you are injured by a third party (perpetrator), such as a traffic accident or injury, you can still receive treatment with National Health Insurance. However, if you have already received treatment costs from the perpetrator, you cannot use National Health Insurance.
Notification as soon as possible
When you receive treatment using National Health Insurance, please submit "Notification of Injuries and Diseases Caused by Third-Party Act". You will also need a police traffic accident certificate, so please consult with each ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section as soon as possible.

If the victim is injured by a third party due to a traffic accident or the like, in principle, the medical expenses will bear the entire amount unless the victim is negligible.
Therefore, in the case of insurance medical treatment, the medical expenses, which should be borne by the perpetrator, will be paid temporarily by the National Health Insurance and later charged to the perpetrator on behalf of the victim.
Before making an appointment
If there is a consultation between the victim and the perpetrator, the contents of the consultation will take precedence, so it may not be possible to claim the medical expenses replaced by the National Health Insurance to the perpetrator. please.
If an appointment is completed, please contact us in advance and submit a copy of the appointment form to each ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section.
