Even if you are injured by a third party (perpetrator), such as a traffic accident or injury, you can still receive treatment with National Health Insurance. However, if you have already received treatment costs from the perpetrator, you cannot use National Health Insurance.
Report as soon as possible
When you receive treatment using the National Health Insurance, please submit a "Notification of Injuries and Diseases Caused by Third-Party Act". You will also need a police traffic accident certificate, so please consult with each ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section as soon as possible.

medical expenses is borne by perpetrators
If the victim is injured by a third party due to a traffic accident or the like, the medical expenses shall be borne by the perpetrator in principle.
Therefore, in the case of medical treatment, the medical expenses, which should be borne by the perpetrator, will be paid by the National Health Insurance and will later charge the perpetrator on behalf of the victim.
Before negotiation
If the victim and the assailant discuss each other, the contents of the consultation will take precedence, so it may not be possible to claim the medical expenses replaced by the National Health Insurance to the perpetrator. please.
Please contact us in advance when making an appointment, and if the settlement is concluded, please submit a copy of the settlement form to each ward office Insurance and Pension Division National Health Insurance Section immediately.
