If you use The Long-term Care Insurance's services due to the act of a third party (perpetrator), such as a traffic accident or injury, you must submit a notification because the method of paying care costs is different.

In the event that nursing care is required due to the act of a third party (perpetrator), the necessary nursing care costs will be borne by the perpetrator unless the victim is negligible. When using the The Long-term Care Insurance service, Yokohama City will pay the insurance benefits for nursing care expenses, and then charge the perpetrator on behalf of the victim.

If a consultation between the victim and the assailant is concluded, the contents of the consultation will take precedence and it may not be possible to claim the perpetrator for nursing care expenses.

Regarding the services used after the conclusion of the settlement, if the Yokohama City has already paid nursing care expenses to the service provider, Yokohama City will provide the insured (victim) with the intent of avoiding double payment. We may request a refund of the cost.

In addition, if you do not pay nursing care expenses from Yokohama City to service providers, the amount equivalent to the nursing care expenses received by the consultation will not be able to provide insurance from Yokohama City, and may be used by the entire amount.
