k.Welfare benefits for persons with disabilities living in Japan

[Target persons] Those who cannot meet the requirements for receiving public pension, such as National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin), which falls under any of the following:

(1)Foreign nationals living in Japan who had reached the age of 20 on January 1, 1982 and were disabled
(2)Foreign nationals residing in Japan who reached 35 years old on January 1, 1982 and became disabled between the same day and March 31, 1986
(3)Japanese who became disabled while living abroad from April 1, 1961 to March 31, 1986

[Benefits]

Amount of benefits and degree of disability
Severe43,500 yen per month is paid four times a year
(June, September, December and March) Payment
Handbook for the Physically Disabled 1.2
Notebooks of love, etc. (Nursing Notebooks) A1 and A2
Mental Handicapped Health and Welfare Handbook 1st grade
Moderate31,500 yen per month is paid four times a year
(June, September, December and March) Payment
Handbook for the Physically Handicapped 3rd grade
Love Notebook, etc. (Nursing Notebook) B1
Mental Handicapped Health and Welfare Handbook 2nd grade
