k.Welfare benefits for persons with disabilities in Japan

[Target persons] Those who cannot meet the requirements for receiving public pension, such as National Pension Plan (Kokumin Nenkin), which falls under any of the following.

(1)Foreign nationals who had reached the age of 20 on January 1, 1982 and were disabled.
(2)Foreign nationals living in Japan who reached the age of 35 on January 1, 1982 and became disabled between the same day and March 31, 1986
(3)Japanese who became disabled while living abroad between April 1, 1961 and March 31, 1986

[Benefit]

Amount of benefits and degree of disability
Severe¥43,500 per month is four times a year
(June, September, December, March) Payment
Handbook for the Physically Disabled 1.2
Love Notebook, etc. (Nursing Handbook) A1 and A2
Mental Handicapped Health and Welfare Handbook Level 1
Medium31,500 yen per month four times a year
(June, September, December, March) Payment
Handbook for the Physically Disabled 3rd grade
Love Notebook, etc. (Nursing Handbook) B1
Mental Handicapped Health and Welfare Handbook Level 2
