Major assignments and work

There are two types of assignments: a “ward office” that takes advantage of local characteristics, and a “city hall”, which formulates policies for the entire city. You can have a wide range of experiences, from individual support to work related to measures.
In addition, they are assigned to children's guidance office and the Mental Health Consultation Center, so they can deepen their health activities at specialized institutions.

The assignments include the ward office (Health and Welfare Center) and the City Hall (bureau).

"Health and Welfare Center"

Health and Welfare Division

Business Planning Manager: It is responsible for promoting community-based welfare and health plans in collaboration with local organizations and residents and consolidate statistics on welfare and health.
Health Promotion Section: In addition to promoting health promotion activities in familiar areas, we are also responsible for health crisis management, such as dealing with infectious diseases.

Elderly and Disabled Support Division

We are working to support the elderly, disabled and incurable disease patients, prevent nursing care and dementia, prevent abuse, and promote comprehensive community care.

Children and Families Support Division

We work on maternal and child health business such as infant health checkups and home visits for local child care families, child care support projects, abuse prevention, etc.

Planning and coordination and policy planning for the entire city "City Hall"

Health and Social Welfare Bureau

We work on health promotion, health crisis management, welfare and health for the elderly and the disabled, and the development of community welfare and health plans.

Child and Youth Bureau

Aiming at a community where children can be born with peace of mind and healthy children, we are working on drafting measures and creating local resources.

Medical Care Bureau

Promote medical policies in an integrated manner and coordinate with medical institutions, nursing care, and welfare services.

General Affairs Bureau, Fire Bureau, Water Works Bureau, Transportation Bureau, etc.

From the perspective of occupational health, we are working to promote employee health and disease prevention.

Specialized organizations (children's guidance office, Mental Health Consultation Center, etc.)

As a specialized organization, we provide various consultations on children and caregivers, and support for parties and families such as mental health and addiction.

Many opportunities to work and grow with peace of mind

After recruitment, there is a system to support trainers (senior staff in charge of training newcomers) in the workplace, and you can take charge of the work while consulting on how to proceed with your work, questions and concerns.
After experiencing a wide range of fields, there are multiple promotion systems, such as the way to create policies and manage policies as a responsible position (manager) and a way to master their expertise and become a full-time job (specialist) in which opportunities to demonstrate their abilities.

Training system for capacity improvement

01 As an administrative officer

We conduct various trainings to acquire basic knowledge and improve skills so that we can be aware of as a public servant and play a role according to job position.

02 As a professional profession

Based on the basics of on-the-job training (on-the-job training) on-the-job training is conducted according to the number of years of experience.
Combining OJT and training, the knowledge and skills of professionals will be refined through the accumulation of learning how to address daily work issues in the training and returning to the workplace and practicing it.

03 System for Capacity Development

Yokohama City has established the "Career Ladder" for the ability you want to acquire as a public health nurse.
Using a career ladder, you can understand the status of your professional skills and help you set goals for the next step.
In addition, we offer menus and systems for capacity development, such as dispatch training to national training institutions, city-specific research presentations, or going to graduate school.
