Chief of Children and Families Support Division Ward

Chief of Children and Families Support Division Ward

During the transitional period of child abuse response work at the ward office, the rewarding felt during trial and error

When I was a staff member, I was transferred from children's guidance office to Children and Families Support Division, just before the ward office began dealing with child abuse in earnest.
Even in the workplace in the same field of children, I was surprised at the differences in work and culture, and there were also issues that I saw through both experiences.
The days of trial and error with friends were rewarding, and I participated in city projects and was stimulated. It is a great pleasure to be able to attend the site where business changes drastically.
At that time, my boss told me, "What you want to do can be realized more from the chief's point of view," and I became conscious of promotion.

Switching from work mode, time with children and time for fun

I gave birth to two children while working in children's guidance office, and took childcare leave with my husband for half a year. The experience of spending one-on-one with a child during childcare leave seems to be positive for the relationship between father and child, and they are still close friends around the age.
I usually forget about my work at home and rarely open a schedule book. I love eating delicious food under the blue sky, so barbecue and camping with people I met at work is one of my pleasures.

To everyone who aims to become a social welfare profession in Yokohama

Today, social workers are expected to play an active role in various fields. Supporting individual self-realization, solving social issues that can be seen from it, and designing welfare measures for the future are all tasks that can only be done by humans, and in Yokohama City, social welfare workers are all involved in all of them. It is possible to get involved.
I'm waiting for you with imagination.

Encountering wonderful social workers is a property

In 2001, I was assigned to the Welfare Bureau Public Welfare Division (at that time) as a staff member and went around each ward for audit work.
Among them, at that time, I was a staff member of a ward, but at the core of the workplace, some were following the chief as a matter of course.
I was impressed that Yokohama City had such staff. Also, I was able to meet someone who longed for such a chief. After that, fortunately, I was able to work with him as the same chief, which is really a property.

From Yokohama City to the Country-Building a new career and providing food-

In the 22nd year of joining the agency, I was promoted to the section manager and dispatched to the Ministry of Health, Labour and Welfare. It was just the time of the revision of the National Assistance Act and the enactment of the Act on the Independence of the Living Needs. In the explanation to the Minister, I had valuable experiences such as being in a position to report the situation nationwide.
As an auditor, I was able to speak directly with many local governments involved in the social security.
Social welfare workers in Yokohama are famous all over the country, and I was really helped by our predecessors.

To everyone who aims to become a social welfare profession in Yokohama

I think the appeal of Yokohama City is its size as a basic local government. There are not only many workplaces that work as social welfare workers.
You can work with many people in Motoichi alone, but encounters with many people, including other local governments and private organizations, are waiting through work.
In such a situation, you can also realize your own growth.
