What are "Metz" and "Metz Time"?
Last Updated January 20, 2020
What is “mets” (METs: metabolic equivalents)?
It is the "physical activity amount" that indicates how many times the energy is consumed compared to when resting (lying down and making it easier) is set to 1.
What is "Mets Time"?
Represents "physical activity" and can be represented by the following calculation.
Exercise intensity "mets" x execution time (hour)
For example, if you perform exercise intensity of 3 mets for 1 hour, you can calculate the amount of physical activity by the following calculation.
3 mets × 1 hour = 3 mets ・ Time physical activity
By the way, the exercise intensity of 3 mets includes "normal walking (about dog walking)", "ride a bicycle with electric assist", and "helping the kitchen".
In addition, calorie consumption (kcal) is calculated by the following formula.
Physical activity ("mets time") x weight (Kg) x 1.05
To reduce the risk of lifestyle-related diseases
It is said that it is good to perform "physical activity" of 3 mets or more in a week for 23 mets / hour.
A simple calculation requires about 3.3 mets/hour physical activity per day.
3 The amount of physical activity at the time is almost the same as "normal walking (about dog walking) 60 minutes".
