What is the connection between step width and health?


 

"Walking" is one of the aerobic exercise that can be easily started regardless of age or exercise experience, and the effects obtained are various. It is said that the effect of preventing dementia can be expected by adding "awareness of step width" to daily "walking" to daily "walking" and expanding the usual stride.

Are you walking conscious of the steps?

It is said that the stride gradually becomes narrower due to weakness of muscle strength. Research results of a survey of more than 1,000 residents aged 65 and over shows that "changes in stride length and cognitive function" indicates that the risk of developing dementia is more than tripled compared to the "wide strides". ※¹

Aim for "normal step width +10cm" walking!

It is recommended that you walk 10 minutes longer than usual, do muscle training, or walk a 10cm step width.
First of all, let's enjoy the idea of incorporating "+10 (plus ten)" into your life by increasing the stride width by 10cm.
