What is the connection between stride width and health?


 

"Walking" is one of the aerobic exercises that can be easily started regardless of age or exercise experience, and the effects can be obtained vary. It is said that the effect of preventing dementia can be expected by expanding the normal stride by adding "stride awareness" to daily "walking". .

Are you walking conscious of your stride width?

It is said that the stride width gradually narrows due to the weakening of muscle strength as aging. A survey of more than 1,000 residents aged 65 and over on "changes in stride width and cognitive function" shows that the risk of developing dementia is more than three times higher than that of a group with "wide stride width". ※¹

Aim for "normal stride + 10cm" walking!

It is recommended that you walk 10 minutes longer than usual, do muscle training, or walk a 10cm stride width.
First of all, since the stride width is increased by 10 cm, let's enjoy the idea of incorporating "+10 (plus ten)" into your life.
