First Half of 2024 Fire and Emergency Overview (Preliminary Report)

①The number of fires has decreased, recording the lowest in the past 10 years. On the other hand, housing fires increased.
　Fire deaths were the most common in the past 10 years, all of which were caused by house fires.
・The total number of fires was 330, a decrease of 49 from the same period of the previous year, but the number of building fires was 235, an increase of 20 from the same period of the previous year. Of the building fires, there were 158 house fires, an increase of 15 from the same period of the previous year.
・There are 16 deaths from fires, excluding arson and suicide, the highest number in the past 10 years (same as 2015). In addition, everyone has died in a house fire.
②Both the number of emergency cases and the number of transport personnel increased at a faster pace than last year, which was the highest ever.
・The number of emergency participations was 123,273, an increase of 6,274 (5.4%) compared to the same period of the previous year, and the number of transport personnel was 100,206, an increase of 5,771 (6.1%) compared to the same period of the previous year. . Both the number of emergency cases and the number of transport personnel increased at a faster pace than last year, which was the highest ever.
・Looking at the ratio of transport personnel by age, elderly people accounted for 58.3%, and mild cases accounted for 45.6%.
