①The number of fires decreased. However, the number of deaths (excluding arson and suicide) increased by 10 from the previous year to 24.

・The total number of fires was 678, a decrease of 55 compared to the previous year, but building fires were 457, an increase of 19 from the previous year.

・Fire deaths (excluding arson and suicide) were 24 people, the highest in the past 10 years, as in 2016.

・The number of electric fires (*) in all fires was 198, which remains at a high level.

②For the third consecutive year, both the number of emergency cases and the number of transport personnel recorded a record high.

・The number of emergency participations was 256,481, an increase of 1,845 (0.7%) compared to the previous year, the highest ever.

・The number of transport personnel was 207,472, an increase of 2,501 (1.2%) compared to the previous year, the highest ever. Looking at the ratio of transport personnel by age, 58.5% for elderly people and 54.7% for moderate or higher by degree of injury and illness.
