Based on the "Yokohama City Ordinance on Promotion of International Peace", Yokohama City promotes initiatives that contribute to international peace, such as international exchange, international cooperation, and multicultural coexistence, and creates opportunities to think about peace with citizens.
This year's International Peace Lecture will be a documentary film by Tetsu Nakamura, a physician who has helped live and save lives while staying close to people suffering from illness, war and drought for 35 years in Afghanistan and Pakistan. We will screen the "Light of Hope in the Wilderness".
After the screening, a panel discussion will be held with Director Kenji Tanitsu, who has been interviewing Dr. Nakamura's activities locally.
