We have started a Yokohama training project for Balikpapan City staff in Indonesia!

Yokohama City launched a new project to accept staff from Balikpapan City, Indonesia, and announced it at the 13th Asia Smart City Conference (held on October 23 and 24, 2024).
Balikpapan (population of about 700,000) is located in the state of East Kalimantan, Indonesia, adjacent to the new capital Nusantara. The population is expected to increase rapidly due to the relocation of the capital, and we are developing new urban plans to achieve sustainable urban development that is environmentally friendly.
The city of Balikpapan and the Indonesian government were interested in the experience of urban development in Yokohama, and this training project was started. A total of four employees, including the city and the government, will stay in Yokohama for two months to give lectures by Yokohama City officials and foreign experts, on-site inspections, technical exchanges with local companies, etc., and learn the experience of urban development in Yokohama. .
Motoichi conducts this training project as part of "International Technical Cooperation (Y-PORT) through Public-Private Partnership Utilizing Resources and Technology of Yokohama", and supports the development of city planning in Balikpapan City to achieve sustainable cities.
