On Monday, July 1, 2024, the Yokohama City and the UNDP, which has a wealth of experience in supporting the reconstruction of Ukraine, signed and jointly announced an agreement to cooperate in Ukraine's reconstruction assistance centered on Odesa. This is the first time in the world that the UNDP has signed an agreement with a municipality (excluding local governments in Ukraine) to cooperate in supporting the reconstruction of Ukraine.
The conclusion date is the anniversary of Yokohama City and Odesa City formed a sister city tie-up in 1965.
In addition, as the first step in supporting the reconstruction of Ukraine through cooperation between the two sides, we will start supporting the restoration of Odesa City Nursery School in Odesa, which was damaged by the blast.
