Greenhouse gas emissions (preliminary figures) from Yokohama city area in FY2019 decreased by 2.5% from the previous year to 17.72 million tons-CO2, peaking in FY2013, and decreased for the sixth consecutive year. Factors for the decrease from the previous fiscal year include a decrease in energy consumption through energy-saving efforts and an improvement in the power emission factor. In order to realize Zero Carbon Yokohama, it is essential to further reduce energy consumption and introduce renewable energy, so we will continue to work with citizens and businesses to reduce greenhouse gases.
