Since fiscal 2011, Yokohama City has been working on the Yokohama Blue Carbon, a global warming countermeasure project that utilizes marine resources. As part of this project, we will hold an event where children can experience the harvesting of wakame at Umi Farm, a marine education facility in Sea Paradise, Hakkeijima, Yokohama.
Children can learn about how seaweed grows and how marine life absorbs greenhouse gases.
As with the planting event held on December 12, 2021, this event will be held with the cooperation of Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Yokohama.
The Yokohama Blue Carbon Wakame Harvest Event, which was scheduled for March 13, 2022 (Sunday), will be canceled in consideration of the infection status of the new coronavirus infection. We are very sorry to all those who have been looking forward to holding this event, but we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. (3/8)
