Yokohama City has been working on the "Yokohama Blue Carbon," a project to combat global warming countermeasures project utilizing marine resources. As part of the enlightenment of this project, we will hold an event where children can experience the harvesting of Wakame at Umi Farm, a “seaiku” facility in Hakkeijima Sea Paradise, Yokohama.
Children can learn about how seaweed grows and how marine life absorb greenhouse gases.
Similar to the planting event held on December 12, 2021, we will hold this event with the cooperation of Hakkeijima Sea Paradise in Yokohama.
The "Yokohama Blue Carbon Wakame Harvest Event" scheduled for Sunday, March 13, 2022 has been canceled due to the COVID-19 infection situation. We are very sorry to all those who have been looking forward to holding this event, but we appreciate your understanding and cooperation. (3/8)
