The standards for storage battery equipment and chubo equipment (charcoal griller) that uses solid fuel have changed. (Effective January 1, 2024)

[Storage battery equipment]

Regulations on storage battery equipment were mainly based on open-type lead-acid batteries, but in recent years, storage battery facilities such as sealed lead-acid batteries, nickel-metal hydride storage batteries, and lithium-ion batteries have become widespread. Standards such as JIS have come to include fire prevention measures and fire spread prevention measures.

[Charcoal griller]

There was no evaluation method to determine the separation distance for the charcoal griller, which is a chubo facility that uses solid fuel.

In response to these issues, the Fire and Disaster Management Agency of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications conducted a review and the ministerial ordinance of the country. ※Etc. were revised, and storage battery equipment was changed to contents according to type and safety, and for charcoal griller, separated distance was set, so a part of the Yokohama City Fire Prevention Ordinance was also revised. .

※“Ministerial ordinance stipulating standards for the location, structure and management of target fire equipment, etc. and the handling of target fire appliances, etc.” (Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications Ordinance No. 24 of 2002)
